Started in 2019, this Peoria STAPLE EVENT began as a simple idea of collective unity in the field of beauty. Adrienne Jones/Yarbrough, or AJ as she is known professionally, had the idea to bring the entire city together with a “HAIR & FASHION” show that would rival runways across the country. She reached out to stylists, barbers, beauticians, cosmologists, fashion designers, performers, jewelry makers and more to give the city something they have truly been missing. Since her move here from Philly years ago, she has always had the idea to bring the big city fashion show to the Peoria area. After years of building relationships, creating friendships in business and developing her A Sharp Effect brand and Salon, AJ was finally able to bring groups of industry professionals together to shine a light on them and give them each a platform to show their work and special skills.  She reached out to everyone and very quickly was bombarded with sponsors and support.

After months of planning, the big night arrived and it went off without hitch. It brought people in from across the country and was a sold out event. It seemed as if the entire city came out and performed and worked the runway bringing style and class to everyone in attendance. A virtual who’s who of the cities finest came out to support and were thoroughly entertained. We were so thankful to those who helped and supported this unity event, even thanking those legendary stylists who came before and helped pave the way for the Peoria stylists of this generation. The show was filled with lavish giveaways, vendors ranging from facials and makeup to jewelry and purses, Stage performers, TV and movie actors, local celebrities, comedians and yes of course more Hair and Fashions on display to catch everyone’s attention! The show ended as it began, with a bang and left a deafening standing ovation that could be heard from outside the building. The second showcase was planned but had to be put on hold due to the world wide pandemic but we are extremely hopeful to be able to bring this event to you all as soon as we are green lit be the powers that be. We are looking forward to the next event and truly appreciate all of the overwhelming support and love that we have been given and promise to bring you this event even bigger and better than the first.
